Ridgefield Park Dental Implants & Implant Restoration
Missing teeth do more than affect your smile. They can change the way you eat, speak, and feel about yourself — and over time, untreated tooth loss can lead to bone loss, shifting teeth, and bite problems. Dental implants offer one of the most natural-looking, long-lasting solutions available today, and Smile with Grace Dental Care provides expert implant restoration in Ridgefield Park, NJ.
Under the care of Dr. Grace Shuang Guo, DDS, our practice coordinates implant placement with trusted surgical partners and completes the restoration phase (crowns, bridges, and implant-supported dentures) here in our office, using digital scanning technology for a precise fit.
What Are Dental Implants?
A dental implant is a small, biocompatible post, typically made of titanium, that’s surgically placed into the jawbone to act as a replacement tooth root. Once the implant has fused with the surrounding bone (a process called osseointegration), a custom restoration is attached on top, giving you a tooth that looks and feels like the one you lost.
Dental implants can replace a single missing tooth, multiple teeth, or even an entire arch when combined with implant-supported dentures or bridges.
Why Dental Implants Are a Smart Long-Term Choice
Patients choose Ridgefield Park dental implants over other tooth-replacement options for several reasons:
Natural appearance.
The restoration on top of your implant is custom-shaded and shaped to match your surrounding teeth, so it blends seamlessly with your smile.
Permanent stability.
Unlike dentures that rest on the gums, an implant is anchored into the jaw. That stability means you can eat, talk, and laugh without worrying about slipping or shifting.
Preserves jawbone.
When a tooth is lost, the underlying jawbone gradually shrinks. An implant stimulates the bone the way a natural tooth root would, helping preserve facial structure over time.
Protects neighboring teeth.
Traditional bridges require reshaping the teeth on either side of the gap. Implants stand alone, so adjacent healthy teeth remain untouched.
Lifetime durability.
With proper care, a dental implant can last decades (often a lifetime!), making it one of the most cost-effective tooth replacement options long-term.
Implant Restoration at Smile with Grace Dental Care
For patients who already have implants placed, or who are preparing to receive one, Dr. Grace specializes in the restorative phase, designing and placing the visible “tooth” that sits on top of the implant. Our restoration options include:
- Single implant crowns for replacing one missing tooth
- Implant-supported bridges for replacing several teeth in a row
- Implant-supported dentures for patients who need to replace a full arch with a more secure alternative to traditional dentures
We use digital intraoral scanning to capture precise impressions of your bite (no messy molds) and partner with skilled dental labs to craft restorations in materials, including zirconia and porcelain-fused-to-metal, chosen for their durability and natural appearance.
The Dental Implant Process
Receiving a full Ridgefield Park dental implant typically involves several stages, coordinated with a surgical partner for the placement phase:
Consultation and treatment planning.
Dr. Grace evaluates your oral health, reviews digital x-rays, and discusses your goals. We'll determine whether you're a strong candidate for dental implants and create a personalized treatment plan.
Implant placement.
The implant post is surgically placed into the jawbone. Smile with Grace coordinates this step with an experienced surgical partner as part of your overall treatment plan.
Healing and osseointegration.
Over the following months, the implant fuses with the surrounding bone. This is typically a three- to six-month process.
Custom restoration.
Once your implant is fully integrated, we take a digital scan of your bite and design your custom crown, bridge, or denture. The final restoration is securely attached to the implant.
Follow-up care.
Routine cleanings and exams help your implant last for decades. We'll see you at regular intervals to keep everything healthy.
Am I a Candidate for Dental Implants?
Most adults in good general health with adequate jawbone density are candidates for dental implants. During your consultation, Dr. Grace will assess factors such as overall health, bone density, and oral hygiene habits to determine the best approach.
Patients with reduced bone density may still be candidates with the help of preparatory procedures such as bone grafting (which we offer using socket preservation techniques and bovine grafting material). If a graft is recommended, we’ll explain why and what to expect.

Frequently Asked Questions
Dental implant costs vary depending on how many teeth are being replaced, whether any preparatory procedures (like bone grafting) are needed, and the type of final restoration. During your consultation, we’ll provide a transparent cost estimate and discuss financing options.
Many dental insurance plans now cover at least a portion of implant treatment, particularly the restoration phase. Our team will verify your benefits and explain your coverage before treatment begins.
From initial consultation to final restoration, the implant process typically takes between four and nine months; most of which is healing time as the implant fuses with the jawbone. We’ll outline your timeline at your consultation.
Modern implant procedures are usually well-tolerated. Local anesthesia keeps the surgical site numb, and most patients describe the recovery as easier than they expected. Over-the-counter pain medication is typically all that’s needed for post-op discomfort.
With good oral hygiene and regular dental visits, dental implants can last 25 years or longer. The implant post itself is exceptionally durable; the crown on top may need replacement after 10 to 15 years, depending on wear.
Yes. Full-arch tooth replacement using implant-supported dentures or bridges is a popular alternative to traditional dentures, offering far better stability, comfort, and chewing function. Dr. Grace will help you decide which approach fits your situation.
